Gypsum White Stucco Prospectors: Material Features
When performing construction and repair work, it is often necessary to plaster surfaces in rooms with moderate humidity. Gypsum white stucco plaster is excellent for these purposes. It can be used to finish almost any surface (brick, concrete, foam block partitions) in residential and office buildings.
The content of the article
Description
This gypsum-based building material has a lightweight filler in its composition that helps reduce material consumption.
It also contains mineral components with high-quality additives (for better adhesion):
- Due to the peculiarities of its composition, the diluted solution is easily applied to the surface very quickly and easily.
- White gypsum plaster It does not have high water resistance, so this composition is not recommended to finish bathrooms and similar rooms.
- Do not use the solution in buildings where the food industry is located (contact with drinking water, food is contraindicated). The gypsum component is a high-quality product that does not crack when dried.
Note. It has excellent thermal insulation properties and good sound insulation.
Advantageous Features
After the solution solidifies, a smooth and even plane is formed.
Gypsum white plaster has the following advantages:
- Economical consumption per 1 m².
- Good elasticity, easy to apply and spread on solid substrates.
- It forms a flat, solid surface.
- After drying, the room maintains an optimal microclimate.
- Covered surfaces can breathe.
- Suitable for finishing (thanks to a perfectly smooth and even coating).
- It can be applied manually and mechanically (seeHow is mechanized wall plastering done?).
- Widely used (affordable price contributes to this).
- When applying the solution on the surface in several layers, each subsequent one should be thinner (and lighter) of the previous one.
Note. When the finish is much harder, it can peel off. Apply the next layer only after the absolute drying of the previous one. Plastering ceilings is carried out in 1 layer, it can reach a thickness of up to 2 cm (not less than 1 cm).
Material Features
Due to its main component and modified components, it has the following characteristics:
- It has good resistance, cracks do not form when the surface dries, and also during the further service life.
- Has microscopic pores, the layer of dried plaster is able to regulate the humidity in the room, has good vapor permeability, in rooms with dry air the humidity naturally rises.
- The mixture is absolutely environmentally friendly., it is absolutely harmless to others, due to which it is widely used in residential, educational, public and other premises.
Ease of use, due to the creamy consistency of the finished solution, this mixture is easily and evenly distributed on the treated surface with a uniform layer.
Foundation preparation

This mixture is chosen if it is necessary to glue tiles, wallpaper and so on from above:
- Indoors, this versatile material fills the inter-tile seams.
- The finished mixture should be applied on a high-quality, durable and dry base.
- The surfaces to be treated must be prepared for plastering work (cleaned of the old finish and any dirt).
Substrates with increased absorption must be primed in order to improve the adhesion of the mixture.
Breeding methods
Preparation of the finished mixture from dry concentrate is as follows (instructions in proportion):
- The composition is poured into a container made of plastic.
- Pure water is poured inside (16-20 liters are required per package);
- the mixture is thoroughly mixed with a mixer (a homogeneous mass should be obtained).
- The solution should settle (about 5 minutes).
- The mixture is mixed again.
- The foundation is ready, you can start working with it.
The following recommendations should also be considered:
- Do not add water, dry concentrate or other components to an already prepared solution.
- The prepared mixture must be used up for a maximum of 1 hour (later it becomes unusable).
When stirring the solution, a special pump is mechanically used.
Note. It is used according to the instructions for connecting water and power. The dry mix is loaded directly from the packaging or hopper of the system. The level of water entering the sediment is adjustable.
Application Methods
Prospectors white gypsum plaster is applied to a dry, clean, uniform surface:
- For applying the finished solution, a manual or mechanical method can be used.
- In the first case, the mixture is applied to the workable base with a trowel, putty knife in layers whose thickness does not exceed 50 mm. The surface is leveled.
- If it is planned to perform plastering in several layers, then it is recommended to pass the first with a coarse trowel. This will provide better grip.
- The layer sets in 2 hours. This work can easily be done with your own hands.
- Using the semi-mechanical method, the application is made using the pistol with movements to the left (top), moving down. The solution should be distributed in strips (length 70-80 cm, width 7 cm), each of them should overlap the previous one, as in the video. This article describes only the features of the composition.
- The prepared mixture is applied to the ceiling by movements from left to right. The process should start from the wall opposite the window.
- The formed layer thickness depends on the speed of the pneumatic bucket (if you move the gun faster, the thickness is less).
Full automation is achieved by using special equipment that is used when performing work in large volumes.
